The accreditation process follows the following stages:
Application
The panel selects candidates who show high level leadership and / or advisory experience
Assessment
A panel interview (face to face or online) discusses in further depth the initial application form, self-assessment and 360 degree feedback. Candidates will be advised at this stage whether they are ready to proceed to portfolio or need further experience.
Portfolio
Following attendance at a one day seminar candidates produce a portfolio with two case studies which exemplify the three core areas:
- Advisory skills and knowledge
- School improvement skills and knowledge
- Governance skills and knowledge
The seminar is available as training and development for those who do not wish to undertake the accreditation.
Accreditation
The final portfolio is assessed to ensure that the candidate meets the relevant criteria to be accredited as an Associate
