Sean Cavan

Sean has 30 years’ experience of developing strategic partnerships and professional development programmes for the UK school and university sectors. He is a former Chair of the Universities’ Council for the Education of Teachers, working with DfE on national school workforce programmes and with other agencies such as the British Council and U.S. Department of State on international initiatives. Sean co-led the original development of the AoEA Associate Accreditation process and now supports its ongoing quality assurance. His contribution to this work draws on his extensive experience of supporting senior education colleagues in self-evaluating how they have developed and applied their professional knowledge, skills and experience to a wide range school improvement projects and initiatives. Other current roles include being Head of Business Engagement at the Sheffield Institute of Education, Trustee for Delta Academies Trust, member of the national Chairs of Audit and Risk Forum and contributing to Advisory Boards for several Teaching School Hubs.
